Day 1
Welcome to Paro (By International Flight)
On arrival at Paro International Airport, following immigration and baggage formalities, you will be warmly greeted by an India Tours & Travels representative holding a placard with your name. You will then be assisted to your vehicle for a scenic transfer to your hotel in Thimphu (Approx. 1.5 hrs drive).
Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, is a unique blend of tradition and modernity, set against a backdrop of rolling hills and crystal-clear rivers. Unlike any other capital city, it has no traffic lights—only friendly policemen directing the flow—giving it an unmistakably serene and charming character. With its monasteries, dzongs, handicraft shops, and vibrant local markets, Thimphu offers an inviting introduction to the cultural richness and gentle pace of life that defines Bhutan.

Day 2
Explore Thimphu
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Thimphu, beginning with a visit to the magnificent Buddha Dordenma, a towering golden statue overlooking the valley and offering breathtaking panoramic views. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a revered religious monument where locals gather for daily prayers, creating a serene and spiritual ambiance. Next, explore the National Textile Museum, an excellent place to learn about Bhutan’s rich heritage of weaving, traditional dress, and intricate textile craftsmanship. Proceed to Changangkha Lhakhang, one of Thimphu’s oldest temples, perched on a ridge and offering sweeping views of the city below. From there, visit the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s unique national animal—the Takin—and learn about the legends surrounding this fascinating creature. Later, wander through the vibrant Craft Bazaar, where local artisans showcase handmade crafts, textiles, traditional masks, and souvenirs that reflect Bhutan’s artistic heritage. In the evening, conclude your day with an interior visit to the impressive Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body. Day 3
Travel to Punakha visiting Druk Wangyal Lhakhang temple en route
Drive to Punakha (Approx. 03 to 04 hrs drive), a beautiful journey that takes you through winding mountain roads, lush forests, and traditional Bhutanese villages. En route, stop at the impressive Druk Wangyal Lhakhang, a uniquely modern temple built in honour of the Fourth King, His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck. Perched atop the Dochula Pass, the temple is surrounded by the famous 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges on clear days. Inside, admire the striking murals that creatively blend traditional artistry with contemporary Bhutanese history, portraying the country’s evolution and the visionary leadership of its kings. After this enriching visit, continue your scenic drive to Punakha and enjoy the changing landscapes as you descend into the warm, fertile valley.

Day 4
Punakha Sightseeing
Begin your day with a scenic morning hike to Khamsum Yuley Namgyal Chorten, an intricately designed temple built to bring peace and harmony to the world. The trail leads you through terraced rice fields and pine forests, offering stunning views of the Punakha Valley and the winding Mo Chhu River. Once at the top, admire the temple’s exquisite architecture and enjoy the serene panoramic vistas that make the climb truly rewarding. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and historically significant fortresses, strategically situated at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu rivers. Explore its grand courtyards, intricate woodwork, and sacred temples that reflect Bhutanese craftsmanship at its finest. Day 5
Travel to Haa Valley visiting Lungchutse Temple & Trashigang Goemba
Drive to the serene Haa Valley (Approx. 04 to 05 hrs drive), one of Bhutan’s most picturesque and least-explored regions, known for its untouched landscapes and traditional way of life. En route, enjoy a rewarding hike to Lungchutse Temple (Approx. 02 hrs. trek/walk), a hilltop retreat offering breathtaking 360° views of the Himalayan ranges, including snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, and lush forests. The trail passes through rhododendron forests, prayer-flag-lined ridges, and peaceful woodland, making it one of the most scenic hikes in the region. Continue your journey with an hour’s hike to Trashigang Goemba, a tranquil monastery beautifully perched overlooking the valley, where you can soak in the silence and spirituality of the mountains. After your hikes, resume the drive to Haa and take in the sweeping views as the landscape opens into the wide, pastoral valley. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing amidst Haa’s pristine surroundings.

Day 6
Explore Haa Valley
Enjoy an easy hike (Approx. 03-04 hrs. trek/walk) through the peaceful landscapes of the Haa Valley, walking along gentle trails that wind through quaint villages, terraced fields, and quiet pine forests. Along the way, visit ancient temples and traditional Bhutanese homes, offering an intimate glimpse into rural life, local customs, and the valley’s rich cultural heritage. Meet friendly villagers, observe their daily routines, and take in the serene beauty that makes Haa one of Bhutan’s most charming regions. In the afternoon, visit the elegant Lhakhang Karpo, also known as the White Temple, renowned for its sacred significance and beautiful architecture. Later, stop by a local school, where you’ll have the delightful opportunity to interact with students—sharing stories, learning about their daily life, and gaining insight into Bhutan’s unique education system. After the visit, return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 7
Travel to Paro and sightseeing
Enjoy a wonderfully scenic morning drive back to Paro (Approx. 03 to 3.5 hrs drive) via the breathtaking Chele La Pass, Bhutan’s highest motorable pass at around 3,988 meters. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into alpine forests and open meadows filled with prayer flags fluttering in the wind. On clear days, the pass offers magnificent views of Mt. Jomolhari, the sacred peak of western Bhutan, and sweeping vistas of the Haa and Paro valleys. The crisp mountain air and dramatic scenery make this one of the most memorable drives in the country. Continue your journey with a stop at the enchanting Dzongdrakha Cliff Temples, a peaceful cluster of ancient temples dramatically perched on a cliffside. Known as the “mini-Taktsang,” this sacred site is believed to have been blessed by Guru Rinpoche. Walk through the quiet courtyards, admire the ancient murals, and soak in the spiritual ambiance of this lesser-visited gem. Afterward, resume your drive to Paro. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to unwind. Later in the afternoon, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the National Museum, housed in the historic Ta Dzong, where captivating exhibits of thangkas, weapons, ritual objects, and natural history provide fascinating insight into Bhutan’s cultural heritage. Day 8
Excursion to Tiger Nest & visit to Kyichu Lhakhang
Embark on a full-day excursion to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most celebrated and spiritually significant landmark. Perched dramatically on a cliffside about 900 meters above the Paro Valley, the monastery is reached by a scenic hike through fragrant pine forests, prayer flag–lined pathways, and viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding mountains. Upon reaching the monastery, explore its sacred temples and learn about the legends of Guru Rinpoche, who is believed to have meditated here in the 8th century. After descending, continue your spiritual journey with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most revered temples, dating back to the 7th century. With its peaceful courtyards, ancient statues, and timeless atmosphere, the temple provides a perfect contrast to the dramatic setting of Tiger’s Nest. Paro Departure (by international flight)
