Our Story
In the vibrant tapestry of time, the story of India Tours and Travels unfolds like a
well-travelled map, with each chapter weaving a tale of passion, exploration, and family
legacy. It all began in 1978, a pivotal year when Inder, a fervent explorer with a heart
captivated by wanderlust, found himself on the receiving end of a letter from friends in
France. Their desire to delve into the enchanting state of Rajasthan sparked the birth
of a 30-day travel plan that encompassed the essence of the region—majestic cities,
quaint villages, Aravali Mountain treks, camel adventures, desert camps, and the warm
glow of bonfires under the vast desert sky. As the letters exchanged hands, Inder's
friends were entranced by the allure of Rajasthan, particularly the mesmerizing dunes of
Jaisalmer. Encouraged by their enthusiasm, Inder felt a calling to share this slice of
paradise with more global travellers. Requests flooded in for journeys into rural
villages, Aravali Mountain treks, camel treks, and desert camping, pushing Inder to
realize his dream. Thus, in pursuit of providing unparalleled travel experiences, he
founded "Padmani Tours," which later evolved into the renowned "India Tours & Travels."
While Inder's dreams unfolded on the tourism front, his son Kirit embarked on a separate
journey, venturing into the world of fabrics and garments. Kirit's business thrived as
he introduced diverse cloth materials from various corners of India. Yet, as India Tours
and Travels expanded, Inder found himself in need of additional hands, turning to Kirit
for assistance. In 1988, Kirit joined the family enterprise, seamlessly blending his
fabric expertise with the world of tourism.
