This morning, after breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ahmedabad, the historic and cultural heart of Gujarat. Upon arrival, you will be warmly received and driven into the city to begin your exploration. Start with a visit to the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, renowned for its exquisite stone latticework windows. The intricate craftsmanship of the famous “Tree of Life” jali is a masterpiece of Indo-Islamic architecture and a lasting symbol of the city’s artistic heritage. Next, visit the serene Sabarmati Ashram, the former residence of Mahatma Gandhi. Situated on the banks of the Sabarmati River, the ashram played a pivotal role in India’s freedom movement. Walk through its simple living quarters, view photographs, letters, and personal belongings of Gandhi, and reflect on the powerful legacy of non-violence and self-reliance he left behind. Later, drive to the Adalaj Stepwell, a 15th-century marvel of Indo-Islamic architecture. This five-storey stepwell is adorned with intricate carvings and motifs, built not only as a water resource but also as a resting place for travellers. Its sculpted corridors and ornate pillars offer a glimpse into the engineering ingenuity and cultural significance of stepwells in Gujarat. Begin your journey at dawn to avoid the midday heat as you approach Shatrunjaya Hill, where over 800 intricately carved marble temples rise majestically above the plains. The journey takes you through the vibrant rural landscapes of Gujarat—past colorful tribal hamlets, farmlands, dry deciduous forests, and scattered acacia trees typical of the region. En route, you may catch glimpses of traditional village life, with women drawing water from wells, farmers tending to their fields, and cattle herders leading their flocks. As you get closer to Gir, the terrain gradually changes into scrubby forests and grasslands—home to a variety of birds and animals. Full day excursion to Tribal villages and Dhordo

Today, enjoy a full-day excursion to explore the tribal villages and the culturally rich settlement of Dhordo, located on the edge of the Great Rann of Kutch. The Jatt communities—particularly the Dhanetah and Garasiya Jatts—are semi-nomadic pastoralists known for their striking attire, elaborate silver jewellery, and distinctive embroidery styles that feature bold motifs and intricate stitching. Begin your day with a visit to one or two Jatt villages, where you can engage with artisans and learn about their traditional lifestyle, which revolves around livestock, embroidery, and oral folklore. The women’s embroidery, often done without traced patterns, is among the most valued textile arts in Kutch. Later, head to Dhordo, a charming village known for its whitewashed bhungas, colorful handicrafts, and proximity to the salt desert.
