Welcome to Delhi (By International Flight)

On arrival at DELHI Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 3), following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, as you exit the arrival terminal building, you will be welcomed by India Tours & Travels executive holding a placard in your name to greet you. After that, you will be assisted with a transfer to your hotel and check-in.
Delhi, India’s capital territory, is also known for its people with happy hearts and dynamic nature. Delhi is a city where ancient and modern blend seamlessly together and stands as one of the fastest developing cities in the world. The thriving cosmopolitan metro has a long history of empire successions from Delhi Sultanate to Mughals to British and still is the political capital of the nation.

Day 2

Fly to Leh & Acclimatize
By Flight: Departure Delhi at 07:00 Hrs / Arrival Leh at 08:30 Hrs or similar.

Early in the morning, as per the above-mentioned flight, you will be assisted with a departure transfer to Delhi domestic airport to board the flight to Leh, well-known for its high elevations and several passes that connect various sites in this tough terrain. Ladakh is also known as the world’s coldest desert. It is dominated by dramatic landscapes, Stunning Gompas (Tibetan Buddhist monasteries), flapping prayer flags and whitewashed stupas. On arrival at Leh airport, you will be assisted with a transfer to your hotel and check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure to browse the bazaar (markets) of Leh. Get a wide range of fairly cost items, such as apparel and accessories. Pashmina shawls, meditation wheels, Kashmiri rugs, apricot jam, Tibetan jewellery, etc.

Day 3

The Magnificent Monasteries around Leh

Today, we embark on a breathtaking adventure to explore some of the most exquisite monasteries in the Leh region. Begin your journey at Stok Palace, the royal residence of the Namgyal dynasty, which houses a museum showcasing a rich collection of artifacts, royal attire, and Buddhist art. After exploring the palace, continue to the Shey Monastery, founded in the 17th century, which was once the summer residence of Ladakh nobility. The monastery is renowned for its impressive Shakyamuni Buddha statue, a stunning sight to behold. As you explore the monastery, take in the serene surroundings and admire the intricate architecture that blends seamlessly with the landscape. Next, head to Thiksey Gompa, an important emblem of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This magnificent monastery is perched on a mountaintop at an elevation of 3,600 meters, offering spectacular vistas of the Indus River valley and the majestic snow-capped mountains. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal place for meditation and reflection. Conclude your journey with a visit to Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, known for its annual festival and vast collection of ancient relics and statues. Day 4

Travel to Spituk and commence the rafting journey to Nimmu

In the morning, you will be transferred to Spituk (Approx. 1.5 to 02 hrs. drive), where your exhilarating rafting journey on the Indus River begins. After receiving a safety briefing and gearing up with essential equipment, you'll set off into the crystal-clear waters, navigating exciting rapids while surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes. As you make your way to Nimmu (Approx. 01 hr rafting), you'll experience the thrill of white-water rafting amidst the serene beauty of the Himalayas. On arrival in Nimmu, you'll have plenty of time to relax and unwind at your leisure, soaking in the tranquil surroundings and reflecting on the day’s adventure.

Day 5

Travel to Lamayuru visiting Alchi & Likir Monastery en route

After breakfast, set out for a scenic drive to Lamayuru (Approx. 02 hrs. drive). Along the way, visit the beautiful Likir Monastery, perched on a hilltop and renowned for its impressive architecture and vibrant Buddhist culture. Explore its serene surroundings and take in stunning views of the valley below. Next, continue your journey to Alchi Monastery, one of the oldest and most culturally significant monasteries in Ladakh, famous for its exquisite murals and intricate woodwork that reflect centuries of artistry. Spend some time admiring the ancient frescoes and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. Continue your drive through the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh, with its stark desert beauty and dramatic mountain scenery, before arriving in Lamayuru. Known as the "Moonland" due to its unique terrain, Lamayuru Monastery offers stunning views and a serene upon arrival, check-in at your hotel and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 6

Visit Lamayuru Monastery and travel to Rizong

After breakfast, check out and visit the famous Lamayuru Monastery, perched dramatically on a hilltop. This monastery, also known as Yuru Gompa, dates back to the 11th century and is one of the largest and most important in Ladakh. Take time to explore the monastery, observe the daily rituals of the monks, and soak in the serene atmosphere. Known as the "Moonland" due to its unique lunar-like terrain, Lamayuru offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, making it a perfect spot for reflection and tranquillity. Later continue your travel to Rizong (Approx. 02 hrs. drive) and walk up to the Monastery, known for its peaceful setting and strict monastic discipline. Often referred to as the “Paradise for Meditation,” Rizong is a secluded monastery nestled amidst rocky cliffs, offering a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Later check-in at your tented accommodation in Uletokpo and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 7

Trek to Yangthang Village

Set out on the scenic trek from Rizong to Yangthang Village, a gradual walk lasting (Approx. 03 to 04 hrs walk/trek). As you ascend through a picturesque valley, you'll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and the tranquillity of the Himalayan environment. The trek is relatively easy, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural beauty around you. As you approach Yangthang, you'll need to climb a gentle hill to reach the village, which is characterized by its charming collection of 15-20 traditional Ladakhi houses. This quaint village offers a glimpse into local life, where you can experience the warm hospitality of the residents and enjoy the breathtaking scenery that surrounds this peaceful settlement. The trek provides an opportunity to connect with the rich culture and serene beauty of the Ladakhi landscape. On arrival, check-in at homestay and spend the rest of your time at leisure.

Day 8

Trek to Uley

After breakfast, embark on a captivating trek to Uley, where you’ll experience the serene beauty of Ladakh’s landscapes. It takes approx. 04 to 05 hrs. walk/trek and features a mix of gentle ascents and descents, making it accessible for most trekking enthusiasts. As you walk, you’ll be surrounded by stunning mountain vistas, lush valleys, and the vibrant colours of the local flora. The path leads you through charming fields and rustic landscapes, offering glimpses of traditional Ladakhi life as you pass by quaint houses and farmsteads. Upon reaching Uley, you'll find yourself in a peaceful environment, perfect for unwinding and soaking in the natural beauty. This village is known for its friendly atmosphere and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the tranquillity of Uley, where you can relax and reflect on the day's journey while embracing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Day 9

Trek to Hemis Shukpachen

After breakfast, set off on the trek to Hemis Shukpachen (Approx. 01-02 hrs walk/trek), beginning with a gradual climb to reach Sermanchan-La, a scenic pass offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Once you’ve taken in the panoramic sights, enjoy an easy descent towards the picturesque village of Hemis Shukpachen. Upon arrival, you'll discover a charming village renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and rich cultural heritage. A highlight of your visit will be the beautiful Gompa, a local monastery that showcases stunning architecture and offers insights into Buddhist practices in the region. Take the opportunity to explore traditional local houses, where you can engage with residents and learn about their way of life. Day 10

Trek to Temisgam

Begin your trek to Temisgam (Approx. 05 to 06 hrs walk/trek), where you’ll first pass through the quaint village, immersing yourself in its serene ambience. The trail soon leads you onto a plateau before ascending to an ill-defined pass, where you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding landscapes. After about 2 hours of walking, you’ll face a steep descent, followed by contouring to the right around the mountainside. The trek continues with another climb to the summit of Meptak La, where you'll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. Following this ascent, enjoy an easy descent towards the village of Ang, where you can take a break for a delightful picnic lunch amidst the picturesque scenery. Refreshed and recharged, continue your trek for another hour until you reach Temisgam. This charming village is known for its rich history and traditional Ladakhi architecture, making it a perfect ending to your trekking day. The journey not only offers a physical challenge but also connects you with the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture of Ladakh.

Day 11

Sightseeing of Temisgam travel back to Leh.

After breakfast, begin your journey from Temisgam to Leh with a visit to the Temisgam Palace, renowned for its impressive architecture and its particularly fine statue of Avalokitesvara, the Buddha of Compassion, of which the Dalai Lama is considered the living incarnation. Explore the spiritual significance of this site while admiring the historic grandeur of the palace. Before departing, visit the Lotsava School, a centre for traditional Buddhist education and local learning. Following this enriching cultural experience, enjoy lunch in the village before setting off on the scenic drive back to Leh (Approx. 03 to 04 hrs). The drive offers stunning views of Ladakh’s rugged landscape, allowing you to relax and reflect on the incredible journey you've experienced. Upon arrival in Leh, you'll be free to unwind and explore the town at your leisure.
