Tour Overview

This is an ideal tour for travel enthusiasts willing to experience the enriching cultural and natural outlook of Nepal. Starting from Kathmandu where you explore the diverse culture and religion that comes together to form a rich heritage and some of the marvelous UNESCO cultural sites in and around Kathmandu. Then, you drive to Bandipur to commence the Ghandruk trek, which is one of Nepal's best short treks, passing through scenic villages and offering dramatic Annapurna Himalayan views. It is a short hike that takes you to a classic viewpoint of Kimrung Danda and allows you to see the glorious mountain lifestyle in Ghandruk town. The spectacular sunrise views over Annapurna and the crystal-clear 360-degree panorama of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and Dhaulagiri Mountain range from Poon Hill are the key highlights of this journey. Before finishing your tour in Kathmandu, you will also have an opportunity to enjoy an insightful tour of Pokhara’s major landmarks along with a scenic boat ride at Lake Phewa.

Day 1

Welcome to Kathmandu (By International Flight)

On arrival at Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport), following customs, immigration formalities, and baggage collection, as you exit the arrival terminal building, you will be welcomed by India Tours & Travels executive holding a placard in your name to greet you. Thereafter, you will be assisted with a transfer to your hotel and check-in.
Kathmandu, Nepal's capital and most popular tourist destination is spread out over its namesake valley and surrounded by Himalayan mountains. It is home to several historic temples, golden pagodas, breathtaking natural scenery, and intriguing settlements. Kathmandu, at an elevation of 4,344 feet, is where the rivers Bagmati and Vishnumati meet.

Day 2

Kathmandu Sightseeing

After breakfast, depart for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley, including a visit to the stunning Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the country's three durbar squares. The location where successive kings sat and ruled over Nepal for a long time, as well as where new rulers were crowned to the sound of drums and trumpets. The huge, spherical Boudhanath Stupa (UNESCO World Heritage Site) dominates Kathmandu's skyline. Thousands of pilgrims from many religions assemble here every day. Finish your day with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, which is located in the eastern suburbs of Nepal's capital city of Kathmandu. The Pashupatinath Temple, one of the country's holiest Hindu sanctuaries, spreads across both banks of the picturesque and respected Bagmati River. The remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 3

Kathmandu Valley and the Patan square

Today, we embark on an exciting half-day excursion to Patan Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the heart of Lalitpur. This popular attraction is renowned for its exquisite temples, palaces, and residences, showcasing some of the best examples of Nepalese culture in terms of historical and architectural significance. As one of the three major Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, Patan Square provides visitors with a glimpse into Nepal's rich history and cultural heritage. In the afternoon, we visit the famous Swayambhu Temple, one of Kathmandu's most significant religious landmarks. Located atop Semgu Hill on the western outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley, this temple is also known as the Monkey Temple due to the large number of monkeys that reside in the area. The temple is adorned with a beautiful golden spire and is surrounded by prayer wheels, stupas, and other holy shrines. After exploring these two remarkable sites, we will have the rest of the day to enjoy at leisure. One can choose to continue exploring the local area, indulge in some shopping, or simply relax and take in the fascinating sights and sounds of Nepal.

Day 4

Drive to Bandipur (1040M)

This morning we drive to Bandipur (Approx. 05 to 06 hrs. drive), a Newari town, which is one of central Nepal's hidden beauties. It blends traditional village architecture, breathtaking Himalayan views, and delightful rural hikes. On arrival, check-in at your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 5

Bandipur – Nayapul to Ghandruk (1940M)

Depart Bandipur early in the morning and drive to Nayapul (Approx. 01 hr. drive) where we begin trekking uphill towards Ghandruk (Approx. 05 hrs. trek/walk) with spectacular views of the Annapurnas and Manaslu. After crossing the Modi River, we turn right and attempt to reach Ghandruk. A steep hill trial where there are good views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South for our rights halt in this picturesque Gurung village, Ghandruk. Many soldiers from the legendary Gurkhali regiments live there as well. We can see Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Fishtail from here. Visit the Gurung Museum, a little exhibit in an old traditional stone slab house where you may learn about the history and local way of life.

Day 6

Ghandruk to Jhinu Danda (1780 M)

Today we leave Ghandruk and travel towards Chomrong, passing through various villages and minor streams along the way. We then hike a stone staircase to Kimrung Danda, where we can see Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), and Hiunchuli (6441m) up close. We then descend to Kimrung Khola over a forested trail lined with oak and fir trees. After passing the suspension bridge, we climb steeply to the crest, where the trail dips sharply to Jhinu Danda (Approx. 03 to 04 hrs. trek/walk), which is noted for its natural hot spring.

Day 7

Jhinu Danda to Pothana (1890 M)

Though most of our return journey is a gentle descent, the trail occasionally surprises us with short ascents that add variety to the walk. After crossing the swaying suspension bridge over the Modi Khola (river), we reach the charming village of Landrung, surrounded by terraced fields and traditional houses. From here, the trail continues through Tokla before climbing steadily to Bichkok Deurali, a scenic vantage point that rewards us with a spectacular panorama of Mt. Dhaulagiri towering above the horizon. From Bichkok Deurali, we begin our descent toward Pothana (Approx. 03 to 04 hrs. trek/walk). Along the way, the landscape gradually opens up to reveal a unique perspective of Mt. Fishtail. Viewed from this angle, the iconic peak takes on a dramatic profile appearing more like the sharp, solitary spire of the Matterhorn than the twin-tailed form it is usually known for.

Day 8

Pothana to Phedi (1130 M) – Pokhara 

This morning, we begin our walk towards Phedi (Approx. 03 hrs. trek/walk), following a scenic trail that gently winds its way down through terraced fields, rhododendron and oak forests, and a traditional Gurung hamlet where you may catch glimpses of daily village life. Throughout the descent, the snow-clad peaks of the Annapurna range accompany us, offering breathtaking views that make the walk especially rewarding. The trek is easy-going and takes around two hours at a relaxed pace. On reaching Phedi, your vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Pokhara (Approx. 01 hr drive). The drive offers a pleasant change of scenery as you descend from the hills into the lush Pokhara Valley. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure—whether relaxing at your accommodation, strolling along the vibrant lakeside, or simply soaking in the serene beauty of Phewa Lake with the Himalayas mirrored in its waters.

Day 9

Pokhara Sightseeing

Spend your morning at leisure. Later, explore Pokhara by visiting the magnificent Devi's Fall, which produces a 500-foot-long tunnel beneath the ground until it reaches its bottom. The stream of Davis Waterfall vanishes underground and is completely imperceptible from the surface due to a unique natural phenomenon, distinguishing it from other waterfalls in the country. Gupteshwar Mahadev Mandir is a Lord Shiva cave shrine. In addition to the sacred temple, the long, deep, and mysterious cave offers a superb opportunity to discover natural beauty in its purest form. The Gurkha Museum commemorates the sacrifices made by the Gurkha military. It is near Mahendra Pul. Visit this museum's stunning picture collection to learn more about the lives of Gurkhas. Gurkha soldiers joined the British Army for the first time in 1815. Pokhara's old Bindhyabasini Temple sits atop a small hill. This temple is dedicated to Devi Parvati's avatar, Goddess Durga. The Goddess who is worshipped is shaped like a Shaligram. To round off your day, spend a tranquil dusk paddling (big paddle boat, kayak, sailboat, or rowboat) in one of the many lakes, such as Phewa or Begnas. That is the finest way to admire the breathtaking views of Pokhara Valley. The rest of the day is free to use the hotel's amenities.

Day 10

Drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, travel back to Kathmandu (Approx. 06 to 07 hrs. drive). On arrival, check-in and spend the rest of your time at leisure enjoying hotel amenities or exploring the local markets for last-minute shopping in Thamel which has been and still is one of the busiest and most well-liked commercial areas in Kathmandu. In the evening, enjoy the farewell dinner in a local restaurant with a cultural dance performance.

Day 11

Following breakfast, you will be assisted with a departure transfer to Nepal International Airport to board your international flight to your next destination.
